This is part of a rewire we've been carrying out in Denton over the last few weeks. It's an ongoing project, so we've been working in stages as the builder gets each area ready for us.
On this visit we were marking out the downlight positions across the ceilings using a laser level. The laser throws a dead-straight line across the ceiling and down the walls, so every light can be set in a true line and at even spacing rather than measured off walls that are rarely square.
Once the positions are marked, the cable for each light is run and dropped through at the marked point during the first fix, ready for the fittings to go in once the ceilings are finished.
