A customer in Audenshaw we've worked for over several years asked us back to replace the old Danfoss room thermostat on his multi-zone heating system. He wanted a smart thermostat he could control from his phone, and chose a Honeywell Home model.
He was also planning to put some wall panels up, so he wanted the thermostat moving slightly at the same time. We repositioned it as part of the same visit, rather than leaving it where the panelling was going to go.
The old Danfoss stat came off the wall, the wiring was checked and tested at the new thermostat's wiring plate, and the Honeywell Home unit went in on its new position.
Swapping an old dial or programmable thermostat for a smart one is one of the simplest upgrades you can make to an existing heating system. On a multi-zone setup each thermostat looks after its own zone, so it's worth having the wiring checked and the new unit connected to the right zone from the start.
