Why our work in Audenshaw is genuinely local
Audenshaw runs along Manchester Road and Audenshaw Road, sandwiched between Denton, Droylsden and east Manchester. We're in and out of the area daily, and a callout here is one of the quickest we'll do.
Around 5 minutes from our Denton HQ in normal traffic. For genuine emergencies we aim to be on site the same hour.
Audenshaw's character comes from its three reservoirs and the M60 motorway corridor that cuts the area in two. The housing on either side of the reservoirs is largely 1930s semis and small terraces, with newer cul-de-sacs filling in the gaps from the 1980s onwards. That post-war stock is where we do most of our consumer unit replacements — the original Wylex rewireable boxes are well past their useful life and miles short of modern RCBO standards.
Aldwyn Park and the residential streets off Lumb Lane have a lot of Edwardian-into-1920s housing, which is the bracket where we tend to find rubber-insulated cabling that genuinely needs to be rewired rather than patched. If you've bought a place around here and the survey flagged the electrics, a partial rewire on the lighting circuits is often enough — we don't push full rewires unless the house actually needs one.
The M60 J23 / J24 corridor and the proximity to Ashton Moss has driven a steady stream of EV charger installs across the newer Audenshaw estates. Most are straightforward 7kW tethered units on the front elevation, with cable runs through the garage or under the soffit.
