We verify your earthing arrangement meets the requirements for EV charging. TT and TN-C-S systems are assessed, and we install additional earth rods or protective devices where the regulations demand it.

Full Testing & Certification

Every installation is thoroughly tested in line with BS 7671, and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate. As an EV charger is notifiable under Part P, we will also advise you on Building Control registration.

We manage the mandatory notification to Electricity North West, including load assessments and any required upgrades to your supply, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Yes. Every home electric car charger must be installed on its own dedicated circuit from the consumer unit, protected by an appropriately rated MCB and RCD. This ensures the charger operates safely without overloading your existing electrical system. We assess your consumer unit during the free survey and advise if an upgrade is needed.

Absolutely. Any EV charger drawing more than 1.6kW requires notification to your local DNO – in the Manchester area this is typically Electricity North West. We handle the entire notification process on your behalf at no extra charge, including any required paperwork and load assessments.

Yes. We regularly install chargers on external walls, driveways, and carports across Manchester. The charger unit is weatherproof and rated for outdoor use. We route the cable neatly from your consumer unit to the charging point, using protective trunking or buried armoured cable as needed.

A standard home installation typically takes between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the distance between your consumer unit and the charging location. If a consumer unit upgrade is required, the job may extend to a full day. We always confirm the expected timeframe during your free site survey.
