Smart EV Charging Expertise

More than just mounting a charger on a wall — we deliver fully integrated, smart EV charging systems tailored to your home and vehicle

Zappi, Easee, Pod Point & More

We’re experienced with every major EV charger brand on the UK market. Whether you’ve already chosen a model or need guidance, we supply, install, and commission the charger that fits your needs.

Smart Charging & App Control

Modern EV chargers connect to your home Wi-Fi and are controlled via a smartphone app. Set charging schedules, monitor energy use, and take advantage of off-peak electricity tariffs – all from your phone.

Solar PV Integration

If you have solar panels, we install and configure chargers like the Zappi to prioritise surplus solar energy. Charge your car for free during daylight hours and reduce your carbon footprint further.

Dynamic Load Balancing

We fit CT clamps and configure your charger to dynamically adjust its power draw based on your home’s real-time consumption. This protects your main fuse and prevents nuisance trips.

Full Certification & Compliance

Every installation is tested to BS 7671, covered by an Electrical Installation Certificate, and notified to your local DNO. As an EV charger is notifiable work, we will also advise you on Building Control registration.

Wi-Fi Setup & Commissioning

We don’t just mount the charger and leave. We connect it to your Wi-Fi, pair it with the manufacturer’s app, walk you through the settings, and make sure everything works perfectly before we go.

Frequently Asked Questions

A tethered charger has the charging cable permanently attached to the unit – you simply grab the cable and plug it into your car. An untethered (socketed) charger has a socket on the wall unit, and you use your own cable to connect. Tethered is more convenient for a single vehicle; untethered is more flexible if you have multiple EVs with different connector types.

Yes. Chargers like the Zappi are specifically designed for solar integration. They use a CT clamp on your meter tails to detect surplus solar energy and divert it to your car. This means you can charge for free during peak solar production. We install the CT clamp and configure the charger to prioritise solar energy during setup.

Load balancing automatically manages the power drawn by your EV charger relative to your home’s total electricity demand. If you’re running high-consumption appliances – an electric shower or oven, for example – the charger temporarily reduces its output to prevent your main fuse from tripping. It’s especially important for homes with a 60A or 80A supply.

It depends on your priorities. Zappi is excellent for solar integration and eco-conscious charging. Easee offers a sleek design with powerful load balancing. Pod Point is a reliable, no-fuss option. Wallbox delivers premium smart features, and Ohme offers the most competitive tariff integration. We’ll recommend the best option for your vehicle, property, and budget during the free survey.

Most homes in Manchester have a single-phase supply, which supports chargers up to 7.4kW – more than enough for overnight charging. 3-phase chargers (up to 22kW) are typically only needed for commercial premises or very high-mileage users. We can advise on whether a supply upgrade makes sense for your situation.
