Yes. Heavy fixtures like chandeliers need to be secured to a ceiling joist or a reinforced mounting plate rather than a standard plasterboard fixing. We assess the ceiling structure, install appropriate support brackets, and ensure the fixture is fully secure before connecting the wiring. We’ve fitted chandeliers weighing over 30 kg safely and securely.

While simple like-for-like replacements on existing wiring are not notifiable, we strongly recommend using a qualified electrician for any light fitting work. Incorrect connections can cause flickering, blown fuses, or a fire risk. If new wiring is needed – for example, moving a ceiling rose or adding a wall light where there isn’t one – the work must be carried out by a registered electrician under Part P of the Building Regulations.

We regularly install fittings in high-ceiling rooms, stairwells, and vaulted ceilings. We use appropriate access equipment – tower scaffolds, platform ladders, or specialist access rigs – and carry out a risk assessment for every elevated installation. The additional access requirements are reflected in the quote.
