Wall washers, festoon lighting, and recessed step lights turn your patio into an inviting outdoor living space, perfect for Manchester evenings and weekend entertaining.

Facade & Architectural Lighting

Up-and-down wall lights and narrow-beam spotlights highlight your property’s architectural features, boosting kerb appeal and giving your home a distinctive evening presence.

Fully Weatherproof

Every fitting is rated IP65 or higher, with UV-resistant housings and stainless steel fixings that won’t corrode. Designed to handle years of Manchester rain, frost, and sun.

Certified & Compliant

All outdoor lighting work is carried out to BS 7671 standards by our qualified electricians, with an Electrical Installation Certificate issued on completion. Where the work is notifiable, we will advise you on Building Control registration.

Frequently Asked Questions

For outdoor use, we recommend a minimum of IP65 – meaning the fitting is fully protected against dust and water jets from any direction. For ground-recessed or drive-over lights, IP67 or IP68 is required. Sheltered porch areas can use IP44-rated fittings. We select the correct IP rating for every position on your property to ensure long-term reliability in Manchester’s weather.

We strongly recommend it. A dedicated outdoor lighting circuit with its own RCBO in the consumer unit keeps your outdoor and indoor electrics independent. If a fault trips the outdoor circuit, your house lights stay on. RCD protection for outdoor circuits is a requirement of BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Bollard lights along the edges of a driveway provide a welcoming guide path. Recessed ground lights or drive-over fittings (IP67+) can be set into the driveway surface for a sleek, low-profile look. Wall-mounted downlights on the garage or house front add additional illumination. We’ll design a layout based on your driveway’s size and shape.

Yes. We have experience fitting sympathetic outdoor lighting to period properties across Manchester, including listed buildings and homes in conservation areas. Discreet fittings, heritage-style coach lights, and concealed cable runs can all be used to enhance your property while respecting its character. If planning permission is required, we’ll advise accordingly.

Very little with modern LEDs. A typical 10W LED wall light running for 8 hours per night costs around 3p. Even a comprehensive outdoor lighting scheme with 10–15 LED fittings will usually add less than £5 per month to your electricity bill. Photocell and PIR sensors further reduce consumption by only running lights when needed.
