Garden Room Electrics

Garden room, office and summerhouse electrical installation across Manchester and Tameside. A proper armoured-cable supply from the house, a dedicated circuit or sub-board, plus lighting, sockets, data and heating — fully certified and compliant with BS 7671.

What We Install

Everything a working garden room needs, from the supply to the network point.

Armoured Supply & Sub-Board

A steel-wire armoured cable supply from the house to a dedicated circuit or small consumer unit in the room.

Lighting & Sockets

Internal and external lighting, plenty of sockets at desk height, and outside power if you want it.

Data & Heating

Hardwired network points for a reliable work-from-home connection, plus a supply for heating or air conditioning.

Done Properly

An outbuilding supply has to be done right — and signed off.

Proper SWA Cable Run

Tough armoured cable, buried or clipped on a safe route, that lasts decades and shrugs off garden tools and weather.

Dedicated Circuits on RCBOs

Sockets, lighting and heating split onto their own protected circuits, so a fault on one never blacks out the room.

Tested & Certified

The installation is tested and certified to BS 7671, with an Electrical Installation Certificate provided and Building Control registration advised where the work is notifiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — it is one of the jobs we do most. We run a proper supply from the house, fit a dedicated circuit or a small sub-board in the room, and install lighting, sockets, data points and any heating supply, all tested and certified.

For anything more than a single light and socket, we usually fit a small sub-board (consumer unit) in the room. That splits the circuits onto their own RCBOs, so a fault on one does not take the whole room offline, and makes future additions easy.

No — that is unsafe and not compliant. An outbuilding needs a permanent supply in steel-wire armoured cable, on its own protected circuit. An extension lead across the garden is a real shock and fire risk.

Yes on both. A new supply to an outbuilding is notifiable under Part P, and it involves armoured cable, correct earthing and protected circuits — firmly electrician’s work. We test and certify the installation to BS 7671 and will advise you on Building Control registration.
