Our Garden Lighting Services

From subtle path lighting to dramatic feature uplighters — we design and install every element of your garden lighting scheme

Path & Walkway Lighting

Low-level bollard lights and recessed path markers guide you safely through your garden after dark, highlighting borders and defining walkways with a warm, inviting glow.

Tree & Feature Uplighting

Ground-recessed or spike-mounted uplighters cast dramatic shadows through trees, hedges, and architectural features, turning your garden into a stunning evening landscape.

Deck & Patio Lighting

Recessed deck lights, step lights, and post-cap fittings transform your outdoor living area into a warm, inviting space for evening entertaining year-round.

Water Feature Illumination

Submersible IP68-rated LED lights bring ponds, fountains, and water features to life after dark. Low-voltage systems keep everything safe around water.

SWA Cable & Safe Burial

All underground cable runs use steel wire armoured (SWA) cable buried at the correct depth with warning tape – fully compliant with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Dedicated Outdoor Circuit

Your garden lighting runs on its own RCD-protected circuit, keeping it completely independent from your indoor electrics for safety and convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

We use SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable for all underground garden lighting runs. SWA cable has a tough steel armour layer that protects it from accidental damage when buried. It’s laid at a minimum depth of 500mm and covered with warning tape. For above-ground runs, we use UV-resistant outdoor-rated cable secured in conduit. This ensures your garden lighting is safe and long-lasting.

Yes, we always install garden lighting on a dedicated circuit with its own MCB or RCBO in your consumer unit. This means a fault in the garden won’t trip your house lights, and vice versa. RCD protection is mandatory for outdoor circuits and is included as standard in every installation.

Garden lights should be rated at least IP65, meaning they’re fully protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction. For ground-recessed lights or fittings near water features, we use IP67 or IP68 rated products that can withstand temporary or continuous submersion. We’ll specify the correct rating for each location in your garden.

Absolutely. We install submersible and waterside lighting for ponds, fountains, and water features using IP68-rated fittings and low-voltage transformers where appropriate. All water feature lighting must comply with BS 7671 Section 702 – we handle all compliance and certification.

Well-designed garden lighting is a genuine selling point for Manchester homes. It extends the usability of your outdoor space into the evening, enhances kerb appeal, and creates a sense of security. Estate agents frequently cite quality outdoor lighting as a feature that helps properties stand out on the market.
